Fuelling Young Visions

Local artist Jelena Mrkich is preparing to transform dreams into reality for Sydney's youth.

On Saturday 21 April Pine Street Creative Arts Centre (Chippendale) will host smARTarts, an arts and cultural festival created by young people for young people. Held annually during National Youth Week it is a forum for expression and inspiration, and a platform encouraging participants to address issues in constructive and creative ways. This year's theme is dedicated to “fuelling young creative fires.” Jelena will be teaching a collage workshop, aptly named “Fuel Your Vision.” Using materials donated by Painters' Gallery in Mona Vale, participants will get the opportunity to inspire their dreams into reality via the creation of a vision board.

Jelena says, “When you surround yourself with images of who you want to become, what you want to bring into your life, where you want to live, or what experiences you would like to have, your life changes to align with those images and dreams.” Jelena has a deep passion for sharing with others her love of creative action and positive transformation. “When we focus on our heart’s desires in a positive way, we open up to more choices and greater opportunities - allowing our best selves to come forward and really live our dreams - while awake.”

smARTarts is on this Saturday, April 21 from 2-8pm at Pine Street Creative Arts Centre, Chippendale. For more info visit www.smartarts.org.au
